These all went to someone special for Valentines Day!
I just LOOOVE those little Owls from SU! I can't stop making them! The little jar has tiny red & purple hearts in it, with "love you", "love always", etc written on them. There are two on the Owl card. I had alot of fun making all these!
I decorated the envelope using a Valentines set from SU.
I put the jar inside the bag with the Owls on it.
Speaking of Owls, I am looking for a Stampin' Up set which was a Hostess gift set from the Holiday Mini Catalogue Sept 2011-January (?) 2012, called "Warmest of Wishes." It has a cute Halloween Owl & other stamps. It is not available here in NZ, but I would LOVE to buy a set if you have one you don't want. Please email me at

"It Wasn't Me, I Didn't Do It, I Know Nothing!"

This is a very innocent looking "Ro-Ro"! Here's what happened next... I had two large heavy drapes hanging over my washing frame. I was on the phone at the time & "Ro-Ro" decided to climb the drapes. The washing frame collapsed trapping him inside the frame & inside the drapes. Hilarious! By the time I had grabbed the camera & explained to my friend what I was lauging at, he had managed to escape & sit on the drapes. He is a constant source of entertainment! Love the question mark his tail is making! Looks like he is saying...What The??!
And no, he hasn't learnt his lesson, he's still trying to climb the washing frame, even though it is bent out of shape...Santa, I need a new one, please!

Birthday Card For A Friend

Oh dear! I have loaded these in the wrong order! Ah well, it happens & life goes on!
Anyway, this was a birthday card for a friend - she loved it! I decorated the envelope too - got a bit carried away as I was having so much fun! I used a flower die to make the flowers,they are so easy to make. The butterfly is a SU die and I have layered it.
Basically, I had alot fun!

I Converted My Xmas Tree!

I didn't want to put my Xmas tree away, so I put these flowers on it & left it on top of my stamp drawers! It also has some dangly gem things that I picked up at the sales for . 50 cents! Need I say it, my cats love it & get up on the drawers & check out all the bits on the tree!

New Stuff For 2012!

I am not good at making baby cards. They don't come easily to me. However! I am happy at how these all turned out, even if they did give me a headaches or two!
They are bigger cards than I usually make, twice the normal size because there are several people who want to sign them. Confused? Me too! Someone asked me to make a unisex baby card, big size. I tried. Hard. It didn't work. I got stressed. I had baby bits that were pink and blue but nothing was working. So I gave up that idea & decided to make two cards, one for a boy & one for a girl...and a unisex (yes, that did work!) baby book that people could sign. The challenge is, no-one knows what sex the baby will be until the baby is born but they want the card now. Yeah, I know, confusing! Anyway, these are what I came up with!
I did have fun making these, eventually, especially the book! Each page is lightly decorated so there is plenty of room for everyone to sign. Amen to that!
The card with the Bunny jumping over the heart is made using an old set of SU stamps & will no doubt end up as a Valentines card! He is so cute & was so easy to make:)The sepia coloured card was a birthday card for my friend Susan, we have been friends since were around 11 I think.

Peg Card Holders Again!

These wooden peg card holders are sooo much fun to make! I made these last night while watching (?!) a movie on TV. Can't tell you much about the movie because I saw very little of it! I know there were people in it...
Making these was alot more fun than the movie! I used different embellishments this time, not Christmas ones like the first lot I made. Some of these can be used for Baby cards, or Valentines & Wedding cards. I have now packed them in two's in small cellophane bags & tied them up with gold cord.

This will be hung up on the side of the house somewhere. I painted it with blue paint, then gold around the sides.
The numbers were nailed on then the flowers put on. Easy!

Merry Christmas from The Supreme Winner!

Merry Christmas to YOU from ME! It is warm and sunny with a few clouds so far. I'm having a picnic lunch in the garden in a couple of hours time:-)
Ok, these photo's belong with the post below, but they didn't all fit. The photo of the hat is the other hat I made, I had two cheap $2 straw hats & ended up decorating them both with flowers. The 'secret' to keeping them on your head (we get some wind over here) is to glue some tiny fishing sinkers on them! It weighs the hat down just enough to hold it on your head when the wind blows, but they don't make the hat too heavy to wear.
The photo of me is after I left the barbecue (see post below for the full story!) and was almost home. I called in at my friend Heathermegs studio, "The Art Bunker" where she sells my cards & other crafts. She had sold the LOT in a few days! Then she wanted to take photo's of me in her studio..so here I am! Hot, tired, had a headache (too much sun & not enough fluid intake) but very happy!
So enjoy your Christmas, however you celebrate it. For me it will be very quiet day, just me & the two Purrito's!

Supreme Winner!

I went to an "Island Summer" themed barbecue on Friday, and won!! I was "Supreme Winner" for my fancy dress I wore! I made it myself, put the flowers on a straw hat, flowers on my straw bag & on my jandals too. I was also wearing jandal ear rings. Everything was from the $2 shop - looove those shops! These are some photo's from the day. It was a really hot & humid day, with a few clouds later in the day. We all had great fun, lots to eat & drink...I didn't have much dinner that night as I had eaten so much! That's my friend Leigh with me in one of those photo's. Oh yes, and my parasol was also from the $2 shop. My bright orange top say's "Sunshine Paradise" on it...just had to have it! And I 'borrowed' "Romeo-Valentino's" hot pink sunglasses for the occasion! I won a box of assorted choccie bikies..yumm! (What's another inch on the hips anyway?!

Bookmarks, Peg Card Holders, "Angel Mouse" and My Christmas Tree

The bookmarks are made using some wide ice block sticks. I glued some scrap paper on them first, them stuck various small embellishments on them. The peg card holders are made with wooden pegs, also covered with scraps of paper. Same as the bookmarks I put tiny embellishments on them. You can see how they work by holding the card. (See post below) WARNING! Cats LOVE them so hang them where the cats can't reach?! Yeah right!
The Mouse is a doorstop & I bought her from the local Op Shop. I put the fur around her neck, the flower, made the wand & put the coloured pom poms in her basket. I also put the fairy wings on her. She needed brightening up, so I am giving her a 'make over'! I have called her "Angel Mouse".
My gorjuss cat "Ro-Ro", (Romeo-Valentino) loves her, the second I put her on the floor by the lounge room door, he came straight up to her & rubbed his chin all over her...staking his claim, 'she's MINE', he said! I am trying to get a photo of him sitting beside her, they are about the same height...I feel a "wedding" coming on...watch this space! You'll be a guest!
The other photo is of my Christmas tree at night. i took it with the flash off. It sits on top of my stamp drawers, not exactly a 'safe' place because both cats get up there and "touch" the lights! I have another tree, the traditional green one but it doesn't have lights on it.

Bookmarks & Peg Card Holders

The Owls on these bookmarks & peg card holders were made using the Stampin' Up! Owl punch, and YES "Miss Twinkle toes", I AM still hooked on that punch! I can't seem to leave it alone for more than a few days!
I had SO much fun making all these book marks & peg things! I covered the pegs on both sides with scraps of paper. The embellishments on the pegs, except for the Owls, were bought in the Boxing Day Sales and were really cheap.. can't for the next sales...

These bookmarks & card holders made from wooden pegs, are some of what I have made recently. The notebook is a Christmas Card register book.
The bookmarks are made from big ice block sticks. I covered one side (they are bright colours) with scraps of paper then stuck the various embellishments on to the sticks. Very quick & easy to make!

Frills and Antique Looking Tags!

Here is "Romeo's" paw, I drew a face on it ;cause I thought it looked like a little bear face! The other two photo's are of him inside my rock & roll petticoat! He got inside the layers of the skirt by himself & slept there for ages!
The tags are made using a pale ivory/cream coloured card & I have sponged them with Butterscotch coloured ink. (Adirondak)
I have used a tag punch I have (not sure of the brand) and a Stampin Up! scallop punch as well as their bird punch & stamp set. I had fun making these!

Cards, Cats and...Carpet Cleaner?!

Ok, that's an interesting title!
The cards are all made using the Stampin Up! Stocking punch. There's a close up of the punch/legs so you can get a better look at how I have made the card. Also, the blue baby jacket is the stocking punch turned upside down & I have just chopped off a tiny bit of the stocking toes to make the sleeves on the jacket. So, you see, you can use the stocking punch all year round! It makes making baby cards SO much easier for me! Usually I struggle to make baby cards, I don't know why, but with this punch it's a breeze!
Now, the carpet cleaner/mop thing is what "Romeo-Valentino" won me the other day! His photo is published in the December 2011 - February 2012 "Pet Magazine"...he's famous yet again! I had no idea his photo was in there as I had sent it in some months ago & forgot all about it.
Then the courier arrives with this parcel for me, and in it was a congratulations note and this mop thing and a letter saying his photo was published in the latest issue of "PM"!! I tried it on the carpet & it really works! It's quite amazing!

Late Night Fun!

It was getting late when I finished these two cards, close to midnight! The cat in the stocking card was modelled on "Ro-Ro", can't you tell! He has tried, in vain, to get in the Christmas stockings I have on the Christmas tree but alas and alack, he cannot fit! Anyway I used the new SU stocking punch & some of the Raspberry Razzle card. Yumm, love that colour!
The 'shabby chic' sort of card took on a life of it's own which is why I was still making it at midnight! It wasn't going to have so much 'stuff' on it but it just seemed to glue itself to the card! Before I knew it, it was 11.59 pm & I said, 'I'm outta here', put the cap on the glue, and off I went to bed!

My Week In Cards!

I have to say, I just LOVE that little stocking punch from Stampin Up!! Seriously, it is just soooooooooo cute! In fact, I find it so cute that I even made a BABY card with it! This in itself is a miracle because I have trouble making baby cards. I just don't know what to "do" for a baby card! I have never found a baby stamp that I really like...if anyone has any suggestions feel free to let me know! I also have trouble making masculine cards for the same reason...suggestions are welcome! BUT!! I will be making some more baby cards using that cute stocking punch, I just know it!
Ok, so what else have I got up there? Another SU punch/stamp set is the bird card, he too is very cute! And the punch & stamp set are both so easy to use, and did I mention quick?! (And fun!)

"Romeo-Valentino", that's him in the post below with the pink umbrella haning off his foot, and sitting under the "Sexy GIRL" sign..sighhh; my cute black & white cat (shhhh, HE doesn't think he's a cat..) has just had his photo published in the 2012 RSPCA calendar!! We got a free copy in the mail! Oh Lord! Does that mean he will be out at the local shopping malls signing (p)aw-tographs?!! Heaven help me!
Having been published a couple of times already, he now believes he is famous...

Two Cats & A Ceramic Tile!

"Romeo-Valentino" just LOVES hanging around on my desk & pookering in all the nooks & cranny's & stealing 'things'! HE is not a 'Sexy GIRL' but he IS a cute bloke!
He just happened to plonk himself down in front of that sign & my sense of humour got the better of me! he's a real character.
And yes, he does have a pink umbrella (a photo prop I use with "Bella-Rosa) hanging off his back leg...I almost used him as a Christmas tree!
Oh yes, the ceramic tile is one I 'saved' from the rubbish bin down the road recently. I just glued some silk flowers and leaves to it, and a small ant.
It's going in my garden somewhere, just haven't figured out where yet!

Some New Stuff I Made!

Here's a mish-mash of a few things I did this week!
There's a photo of my Halloween Tree with spiders & stuff on it. Had to put it up on the microwave because I have an adventurous cat who would just LOVED to have climbed it! Not a good look!
There's a photo of my Memory Box die cuts. I cut out a pattern from each die & took a photo of them. Love those dies!
"Night Cat" is a Memory Box stamp. (Cat under the street light)
The Thank You card was a quick & easy card to make...gotta love them!

An Owl and A Witch...

The owl card was made using an SU punch, and SU card.
The rubbish bin on the other card is from Rubber Stamps of America.
I had fun making both cards, especially the rubbish bin one! The 'legs' are off a Santa stuck in a chimney stamp. When I bought the stamp I knew I would use it on Christmas cards but also to make "witchy" cards!

What else can I say?! The cauldron was made using the slot punch from SU and a circle nestie. The flames are the SU bird punch & the logs are the SU slot punch again.
The witches legs are actually off a Santa who is stuck down a chimney!
Ok so I was having a slightly nutty time when I made this card, but the recipient (who shall remain nameless) will get a laugh from this card!

Christmas Owl

The white card is embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder - can't remember what it's called, sorry, I have a thumping headache right now & the brain is scrambled! I am going to lie down once I have posted this & hopefully get rid of the headache:-(
Anyway, I made this owl into a Christmas card. The gold snowflake is kind of soft/padded. I have them in silver too. Lot's of fun!

Dr. Owl Will Take Care Of You...

On a whim I decided to cut out a white Doctors coat for this owl! I think he looks very cute..now, where's that thermometer?! I cut out the coat by hand & made a 'spare' one so I know what size to make them next time. The green card is slightly scented, same as the yellow one on the above post.

Today's Effort!

I made the Halloween Owl for a friend, and it is now on it's way to her place. No names mentioned in case she sees it on here before she gets it! He was fun to make & only took a few minutes to complete. The tiny note book was covered with some SU paper & the owl was stuck on afterwards. Easy peasy! The thank you card was, once again, inspired by a card on Rosemary-Reflections blog (see side panel for the address) Make sure you check out her blog, the cards are soooo pretty!
Ok, the card board boxes, well that's a "play house" I made for the two Purrito's, Bella & Ro-Ro! They love it & spend hours playing in it & chasing each other through it! It has doors & windows all around it so they can run through it. I made it ages ago for them.

Owl Card and A Crystal

I changed the layout slightly. These are so much fun to make, the Owl punch has always been a favourite of mine!
The rose quartz crystal is set into a small piece of driftwood I found on the beach one day, it had a small indent in it so the crystal fit perfectly! It sits in a dish of sand from the beach. I call it my "Zen" garden!
"Romeo-Valentino" (The black & white bloke on the right hand side of my blog) just LOVES to put his paw in the sand ever so often & swish the sand everywhere!
Like me, he can resist anything but temptation!

Owl Card

I was inspired to make this card after seeing one Marisa had made, on her blog. PLEASE check out her blog because she has some gorgeous cards there! Sorry, my 'link' thing doesn't work anymore & I don;t know how to fix it:-( If you do, let me know!
Anyway, I made this card using Stampin Up Owl punch, the leaves are from the bird punch, and the circles are nesties. The flower is also for an SU punch. I used Distressed Lines embossing folder on the white circle.
I had so much fun making this card (Thank you Marisa!) that I just know I am going to make some more this afternoon!
I'm still recovering from all my health problems recently and am just taking it real easy & not getting stressed if the housework isn't done. The most I do is sleep alot & play in my stamp room - both are very relaxing & fulfilling!
I'll be glad when the side effects of the Prednisone wear off; my stomach is very swollen & feels very uncomfortable, but it will pass. I've been here many times & I know it will improve! Thanks for visiting & please go & check out Marisa's blog!

Red, Gold, Pink, Mauve...It's A Bracelet!

These are some photo's of a wire coil bracelet I made last night. The little "animals" on it are tiny bells! I've had the beads & the idea for ages & finally got round to putting it together last night..it took all of 15 minutes! The big green cat is made of wood. There are 2 cats bells, 1 penguin bell and a frog bell on the bracelet. I will make some others for gifts as I have plenty of coloured beads.

More Views of A Very Special Place In My Heart

Here is a photo of me, at Mangawhai Heads, on top of this huge hill that you climb, the view is amazing from up there! But it IS a steep hill with 100's of steps that wind their way to the top. It's definitely worth the climb! And yes, there is a wonderful seat to sit on when you make it to the top!
Then there is the view of Head Rock; I used to walk out on those rock's to go fishing with my dad when I was a kid. My poor mother probably had kittens worrying about me on those rocks! The things you do as a kid..

Let's Circle Christmas!

Well, this was a surprise! After last nights episode with the Paramedics and not feeling well, I didn't think I would be here blogging some new cards I made!
(See the 2 posts below for more info on last night...)
Bu I made it through the night, slept in until after 10 am, which did me the world of good! My temperature has dropped back to normal & I feel somewhat better than I did at 2.45 am this morning! Even "Bella" & "Ro-Ro" slept in which is unusual for them! They had a big night too!
These circle cards are soooo much fun to make, I made these before I got sick. These ones are Christmas ones. But I can see you know that! You're smart!

A Very Special Place In My Heart...

I recently went back to a very special place where I grew up & spent most of my childhood.
I hadn't been back there for almost 27 years and sadly alot had changed & not for the better. My parents had a batch here & it was all farm land, cows, sheep & miles of pristine white sand on the beaches. Sadly there is no farmland anymore and the "batches" are now great big fancy mansions that look like they belonged in Rodeo Drive. It was very sad to see. And most of the "mansions" were not even lived it, they were all shut up & looked very much out of place. Our old batch has been sadly neglected with all the curtains drawn; it looked lonely & unloved. Really sad to see considering how well my parents kept the place. But shift happens.
Thankfully the beaches had changed very little, just new car park areas mostly.
Anyway I had a fabulous day there & took heaps of photo's.

A Lonely Time...

Two fortyfive am is a very lonely time of day, especially when you are alone & not feeling very well.
I basically have no immune system, no stress hormones, & have been in hospital very unwell (again) with the flu & a bad dose of asthma as well as a sinus infection. I have been home for a week but am a long way from being well. It will take me a long time to get my health back.
Yesterday I had to make an emergency trip to the doctors as I was having trouble breathing & was wheezing alot. They put me on the nebuliser right away, which, eventually eased my breathing & helped me feel better. My gp spent almost an hour with me getting things sorted out before he sent me home. I felt alot better after that.
However at around midnight tonight I woke up feeling like I had a temperature & was nauseous, I didn't feel well at all. I called an ambulance & they were here within minutes.
I have infected sinuses which is causing the temperature & making me feel unwell but luckily I didn't need to go back to hospital.
But as I said, 2.45 am is a lonely time when you are not feeling well & are on your own. I wanted someone to "talk" to and you're it!
My temperature settled down somewhat & the paramedics said it was no doubt caused by the sinus trouble & the fact that I still have the flu and astham problems. They were brilliant & I made sure I told them so! They spent almost an hour with me making sure I was ok & explaining things to me. Very reassuring. Even the cats were impressed!
So that's my evening story, or should I say, early morning story! I had a cup of tea took 2 Paracetamol for the temperature but I'm not feeling sleepy just yet, so I decided to blog it!
I do have some cards to download but am not feeling energetic enough to do it yet, maybe over the weekend I will do it. We'll see, I make no promises!

Circle Cards

I made these cards using my circle nesties. They open at the top of the card. They are quick and easy to make, as well as being fun!
I first cut out the folded circle (scallop) then cut out another scallop circle the same size. I glued this circle to the folded circle card. Then I stamped in the middle of the card & coloured it in. I cut out the plain circle then cut out the center of the card so the stamped image shows through. This plain circle is stuck to the card using sponge tape to give it some height. It SOUNDS complicated, but honestly, it isn't! Believe me, I don't like making complicated cards, I prefer "easy-peasy", it keeps my sanity intact!! The last thing I did was to add the embellishments.

Some New Cards

Here are a few cards, and a tile, I made recently.
The tile was 'rescued' from the rubbish from a local building site down the road. I saw a boxful of white ceramic tiles, various sizes & shapes, and just knew I had to to have them! Wow, were they HEAVY!! I carried three tiles the first day, then went back the next morning with my trusty shopping trolly to get the rest. Even then it was really hard to push the trolley! The total weight was around 25 kgs! Anyway, I now have about 18 white ceramic tiles that I am going to decorate. This one is a beach scene, as you can see. Can you see the little mouse on there?!

Lorraine's Cupcake Table!

Ok, I have just visited Lorraines' blog - http://papervernissage.blogspot.com (that is NOT a link, you will have to type that in to get to her blog, for some reason I cannot do links on here anymore) and found the instructions on how to make these cute little cupcake tables! Thank you Lorraine! It is made using the SU tab punch and a couple of circles. I used my nesties for the circles. It is easy & quick to make and a whole lot of fun! The cupcake on my table is made from a polystyrene ball, I made it last year. Like Lorraine said, the table does actually hold either a muffin or a cupcake! SO much fun!

"BOB" Arrives In Town!

My friend & I caught the train into the city on Wednesday to photograph the "Boobs On Bikes" parade which went down Queen street just after mid day.
A bit of a giggle and a whole lot of fun! And it was freezing cold down the bottom of the city! We were glad to get out of the cold & the wind!

"Flipped Out"

...and this is what I photographed earlier today, Sunday!
I was sitting in my dining room reading today's newspaper when I became aware of several cars stopped outside. Curious I went out to have a look & THIS is what I saw! I don't think anyone was seriously hurt, thank goodness & I have no idea how the accident happened.
Obviously the white car has flipped onto it's roof & clipped the silver car parked on the side of the road. It's not a main road but it is a very busy road with quite a lot of traffic on it.
Twenty minutes earlier I had walked on this exact piece of road (well, the footpath really!) from the local shops after buying today's paper. I still haven't read the paper! Oops, just realised, these have come up in the wrong order...the last photo should be the FIRST on the blog...bummer, how did I do that?! The first pic should appear as the last pic...oh well...the middle photo is fine!

Paw Prints

No! It's NOT "Big Foot" it's "Bella-Rosa's" paw prints...in the mud! She had walked across a muddy patch on the front path one day! They looked so cute (even if they were in the muddiest patch around!)that I had to take a photo of them!
When she came inside all four feet were covered in mud - and she seemed to have enjoyed it!

Whose Cage IS This?!

Here are two cards I made using the Tim Holtz big Birdcage die. Instead of putting the bird in the cage, I decided to put the cat in there! And notice how the clever bird has hung the key up high where the cat can't reach? Clever bird huh!
The bird is from the small birdcage die (also from Tim HOltz) but he fits ok on the big cage too.
I love these dies and had heaps of fun creating these two cards!

The Great Lawn Disaster...

One Big Muddy Mess

This is the MESS my lawns were left in after the contractor's cut my lawns a few days ago.
I am discusted & shocked that they had even cut them as the lawns were very very wet. On top of that, they were not long enough to need mowing.
I am very disappointed & annoyed. The lawns are still in a mess 5 days later.
My lawns do NOT need mowing every two weeks in winter, they do not grow enough.
I have some photo's of the back lawn (these here are of the front lawn)to blog tomorrow..watch this mudpile...

A Butterfly, & "Uncle Sam" Drops In!

First of all, Happy 4th of July to all my American fans, friends & followers! For me, tomorrow is July 4th, but for you guys it is an extra day away. I found this on Beth-a-paloosa's blog & decided to see if I could make it! I put mine on a big paper clip. I used all SU punches to make him, cute huh! And the best part is, he didn't take long to make!

Butterflies

As yet I haven't put these butterflies on a card or anything. I had thought of sticking one on a paper bag to use as a gift bag.
The pale one was hard to photograph as the paper I used is a very pale lilac colour and doesn't show up too well in photo's. Even in daylight it doesn't show up well.

Ok, here is a small bag I made from felt material, to hold my mobile phone! I actually cut it out using my Nestabilities! I hand stitched it together using blanket stitch. It was real quick & easy to make:-)
The BIG photo collage has about 40 + photo's of "Bella-Rosa" and "Romeo-Valentino", my two gorjuss "purrito's"! Now I just have to hang it up on the wall somewhere!

Two Butterflies

As you can see, I am having fun with this butterfly die! The rose card I used on here (to make the card) is just GORJUSS and is slightly scented and comes from Thailand! I picked it up recently when I went to SENZ. I just love it and it comes in all different colours and with different patterns on. Yumm!

Two Bee's In A Pod?!

These are two tiny bee's I knitted and am going to stitch them onto a denim jacket I am decorating! I bought the jacket awhile ago for $1, from a rummage sale. So far, all I have done to the jacket is, put some fancy buttons in it! Oh well, there's no "use by" date on it!

Card For A Friend

This is a card & envelope I made for my friend, Robyn, who lives in Queensland Australia.
I used a big "Sizzix" butterfly die to cut out the butterfly, and added some small material roses & leaves. I think I used my hot glue gun to stick them to the butterfly. I used embossed cream paper for the b/fly.
I used a butterfly template and stippled the envelope in different colours.
It was alot of fun & the first time I had used the b/fly die!

Two Journals and A Bambino!

The journal with the ribbons tied to the spine has my card idea's & sketches in it. As well as various colour combinations I like. When I need inspiration this is where I turn to.
The other book has all my punch art in it. When I have made something using my punches, I make a sample one & stick it in my book so I can remember what I have made & how I made it. My latest entry is the bambino at the top of this post! You can change the expression to suit. Most of the punch art in here is using punches in a way other than what they were meant to be used for. For example, I have made fish by using an SU decoration punch. I also made ghosts & a reindeer using the SU owl punch. You get the idea!

These are some cards, and three candle holder and a notebook (top photo) thing-a-ma-jigs I made in the last week or so! I have been a busy little vegemite lately! I was inspired after spending an awesome day with my friend Dianne, who just happen to be a Stampin Up Demonstrator, and I came home & started creating!
The paper flowers on some of the cards were made using a die from Marianne Createables. It cuts out a sort of snail shape then you roll & fold the paper to get a flower shape. Easy and quick to make! On a recent horrible rainy day I sat down and made a whole bunch of them in various colours. So now when I need a flower I have them already made ready to go!

"Planking", Cat Style!

A couple of troublemakers lying on top of the oil heater one night! They both LOVE it and when one gets off the other gets on! "Ro-Ro" tried to get up while "Bella" was lying on it but there wasn't enough room! He got his ears boxed for his efforts!

The other photo is of him upside down under the bed one day! I was hanging off the end of the bed & I too was upside down, which gives the photo an odd look! Just who is upside down is hard to say!

"Romeo-Valentino" Learns To Crochet...

Ok, this is a scarf I just made last week...with the help of "Romeo-Valentino"!
He absolutely ADORES this wool, as you can see! First of all he helped himself to THREE balls of it early one morning. I woke up around 5 am to hear both cats running round the house having fun. "Oh", I thought, "How nice, they're playing chasey", and I went back to sleep.
Big mistake! When I did get up, there on the floor, was three un-raveled balls of wool; it looked like spaghetti! And the 2 culprits?? Fast asleep in their beds looking like innocent little Angels & Choir Boys!!
After winding all the wool up I put it in a jar, believing it would be safe.
It was, until "Ro-Ro" discovered it, and every time my back was turned he was in the jar helping himself! (If only he could crochet!)
Anyway, I finished the scarf (it took maybe an hour to crochet.
I crocheted a length long enough to fit around my head with a bit to spare. Then I joined the two ends together and threaded a length of thin elastic along the top. This drew the scarf into a sort of circle shape. I made the blue brooch pin & pinned it to the scarf, then made two pom-poms & stitched those onto the scarf. It stretches to go over your head & fits around your neck. It's really warm & cosy & I just love the colour!
I saw these in a clothing shop & they sell for around $17...mine cost $2!
I've since made 2 more in different colours.
Because "Ro-Ro" loves it so much, I keep it in my handbag, otherwise he runs off with it & I find him curled up asleep on it! Maybe I should make him one?!

Note-Book

In spite of having been in hospital again, and not feeling too well, I did manage to sit at my desk one night & make this cute notebook!
I already had the cover made some time ago, but hadn't made it into anything. It was going to be a card, but somehow it got made into this notebook! The notebook was the grand sum of .50 cents, so it was really cheap!
I used some Bazzill cardstock (my all time fave card!) & just covered the back of the notebook with it, then put the decorated bit on the front. Gee, it was EASY! Oh yes, and quick:-) Oh yes, after I took this photo, I added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter from Stampin Up. After thoughts are great...!

"Crystal Mountain"

I recently visited a place, not far from here, called "Crystal Mountain". They sell literally 100's of various crystals, in all shapes & forms. Some are raw crystals and others are made into the most gorgeous jewellery you've ever seen! And the prices are very reasonable, especially compared to what you see in the shops etc.
The first photo is of one of the gorgeous blue Hydrangea flowers which was in full bloom that day. I just adored the colour so had to have a photo of it!
The other two photo's are of a huge Amethyst crystal, which was at the entrance way.
There's also a close-up of the same crystal. It was just amazing - I'd love to have one of these in my garden! I can imagine how heavy they are!
Just after my visit to Crystal Mountain, I became very unwell & was rushed off to hospital..again:-( That's twice within 6 weeks. Bummer! The price of having an immune system that doesn't work.
It's a challenge for sure.

A Wild, Fun Day At The Beach!

These photo's were taken a few hours ago when a friend & I went to one of the local West Coast beaches, French Bay. It is only ten minutes from where I live. I have swum here 100's of times. In the summer it is beautiful. In the winter it is wild & untamed, and still beautiful.
We were only there a short time as it was very windy, cold & wet.
The top photo was taken using my zoom lens and was a very long way away. I bought it up as close as I could without actually getting in the water!
The photo of the tree bits was interesting, there was this tree with all these bits growing DOWN instead of up towards the sky!
The other photo's are of some waves splashing over the edge of the boat ramp.
Mr. Seagull was hoping for some tasty morsel to be thrown up by the rough seas, sadly he got nothing! I tried to persuade him to come closer to the camera but he was too wary & kept his distance. Just as well I have a long zoom lens!
The minute we got back in the car he came up really close..too late Mr. Seagull, I am going home now!

Muffins!

These are Weetbix (breakfast cereal) and Peach Muffins which I made last week. I also threw in a handful of raisins. They taste YUMM! You can't tell there is Weetbix in there, they are very soft and moist & totally delish! And I have a feezer full of them now, so come on over for a cuppa and a muffin!
For the photo I put them into one of my cupcake wrappers I made using my Cricut machine. It says, "Love You!"

The New Scratching Post Is A Hit!

Both him & "Bella-Rosa" love it; it's very solid (I have to drag it to move it as it is so heavy!) and will not tip over when they climb up it...as "Romeo-Valentino" demonstrates!

A Notebook, A Card and A Frog!

The notebook & card were made for my old (not in numbers!) teacher, Judy. She had a birthday last week & this is what I made her. She runs the cofee group I go to.
I covered the notebook with SU card & embossed it using an SU embossing folder.
The card is also made using SU stamps etc.
The frog needs to be stuffed with un-cooked rice - then he turns into...no not a Prince...he turns into a paper weight! I made him last week too.
I had a busy week last week, I made a card, covered a notebook, posted them & made a frog...and spent two days in hospital, again:-(
I'm ok again now, just really tired/fatigued. The story of my life...

I Had Fun and Only Spent a Few Dollars!

Here are a few photo's of some things I got at a mini gala I went to on Saturday. Amongst the things I bought were two notepads (blue & white at bottom left of photo. I have covered one in Pumpkin coloured card from SU. I embossed it with one of their embossing folders & put some pumpkin coloured gems on it too. You can see it next to the un-covered note pad. This is a birthday gift for one of my old school teachers from when I was only 11 years old! Wow, that was a long time ago! She now runs the coffee group I go to & is still teaching! She was my favourite teacher at school.
The recipe book appears to be brand new & has some fabulous recipes in it. All of them are quick & easy to make. (and yummy to eat!)
I found a recipe in it for "Weekend Biscuits", so, being Saturday, I thought, "I can make those"!, so I did! (That's them in the first photo!) They have sultanas in them & taste delish!

The owl book mark is also made with SU stamps & punches...I am totally hooked on SU stamps and punches etc! My wonderful friend Rosy, in Illinois, whom I stayed with a few years ago, introduced me to the wonderful world of Stampin' Up and all their awesome stamps & I have been hooked ever since! Way back then they were not available down under here in New Zealand so I would order them from her & she would ship them to me. When I stayed with her I had ordered HEAPS of SU stamp sets, so my suitcases were VERY full when I came home! (Thank you Rosy Babe!)

Full Moon

This is one of the photo's I took recently, of the full moon.
It was about 7.35 pm and was getting dark when the moon rose over the hill. It was so bright & luminous so I grabbed my camera & went outside & shot off some photo's before it got too dark!
I have an A3 size enlargement of this on my "Great Hall Of Frame" & it looks AWESOME!
I thought I had already put this on my blog but when I checked, it wasn't there. So here it is now, hope you enjoy it!

This Little Piggy Went To Market...

...And THIS cute little piggy flew (yes, he has wings!) all the way from Lorraines place in USA to land in my letter box in New Zealand!!

He has wedged himself in between my Cuttlebug & a box of card! He LOVES my desk & is always on it checking out what he can "steal", or "borrow", as he calls it! When I go to bed at night I usually cover the desks because of his habit of "stealing" things in the night! If I don't cover the desks I find "things" on the floor in the morning & I KNOW that I haven't done it!

Alotta Love and Something Fishy

Ok, I have been doing a little bit of artwork the last couple of days and here are the results! The book marks were made using an SU heart punch & some scraps of red card. I made them while sitting watching tv at night.
The fish were also made using an SU punch, this time a Christmas decoration punch - I forget what it's called:-( The heat/humidity has zapped my brain this summer!

Mini Valentines Cards

These are some f a set of about 24 cards I stamped for Valentines Day. They are about 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches, and after I had samped them & laminated each one. I had alot of fun making them! I used my rectangle nesties to cut them out.

Toilet Paper Or The Mayor?!

...The Mayor won!! You see, it's like this..I had planned on going to K.Mart to buy cheap toilet rolls, but by some 'divine intervention' I didn't get there!
So I then decided I would go & hopefully, have a chat to the Mayor, Mr. Len Brown. He's the new Mayor of Auckland Super City, and he was going to be up at Titirangi Village, just a short walk from where I live.
Well, it is a 'short walk' if you don't have two very painful hips, which I do! So I took two painkillers before I left & off I went. It is a VERY steep uphill walk all the way and as well as two painful hips I was carrying my camera which is fairly heavy, but I made it!
By the time I got there, there was a queue of people wanting to chat with him so I waited until it was my turn. In the meantime I took lot's of photo's of him with various people.
I noticed he smiled alot!
As a small community, alot of residents (myself included) are concerned that too many radical changes are going to be made to The Village which will spoil the specialness of Titirangi. I live surrounded by 17,000 hectares of awesome native bush...we don't want that cut down & heaps of houses built there. There are plenty of other places to build houses, but not here in this native bush area.
We also don't want multi-story buildings built in The Village, it will totally ruin the uniqueness of Titirangi. I told the Mayor this & he said it was people like me who had lived here all their lives who knew the area well & knew what would & wouldn't work for Titirangi that he wanted to speak to. He was very easy to talk with & very approachable.
The word "Titirangi" means "The Fringe Of Heaven" in Maori language. We believe that.
I told the Mayor we understand what 'progress' means & we know change is inevitable..but please... make it subtle Mr.Mayor. Titirangi is a very special place, a place where many artists (me included!) live & if you make too many radical changes you will take away the atmosphere that makes us so special...so that's why I went to see the Mayor instead of buying toilet rolls at K.Mart!!
Nice guy, but he has his own agenda and things WILL chang that some of us don't like.

The two cute birds are on top of corks that you put in wine bottles. Mine sit on a tin by my Tea House! I think they are cute!
The gardener int he cucumbers is also on a cork, but she sits amongst my fruit & vegies from my garden!

What Do You Do...

...when the "Inspiration Fairy" has left you and you WANT to stamp but you're just not inspired by anything??
I've trawled the Internet & looked at heaps of fabulous blogs, all with wonderful cards etc, been to SCS & found heaps of great stuff...but I just can't quite get inspired to stamp:-(
I was thinking of starting a stamp group where like minded people could meet (at my place, I have plenty of room etc) & we could encourage & inspire eachother & learn new things! Would anyone be interested?! I feel that I need (want!) to stamp with other stampers rather than by myself. Leave me a comment below if you are interested or know where I can find the "Inspiration Fairy"...

The Owl And The Pussycat...

Yes, well, the owl & the pussycat is right! The Santa owl is made using my SU punch, I had fun making this!
The spooky looking cat is "Romeo-Valentino" hiding under a piece of gauze like material. His eyes caught the flash & made him look scary!

New Year's Cards!

These are a couple of new cards I made this year. The One with the little dog (Newton, from Hero Arts) was sooo easy to make, it took all of five minutes! I added a little Santa hat which I picked up in the Boxing Day sales (ready for NEXT Christmas!) The word stamp is from Stampin' Up from a set I picked up on sale.
I have a GREAT Stampin' Up demo lady, her name is Dianne & she always lets me know when things are on sale or if there is something she thinks I may like she always let's me know. So a big thank you to Dianne!
The owl card was made with a Stampin' Up punch & I hand drew the wiggly lines with the hearts. The hearts are punched out using the owl punch, I put those hearts on lot's of cards! New Stuff For A New Year!

Ok, here are some new cards & "frogs" I have made recently. The owl cards were made using a Stampin' Up punch - and so was the littel reindeer! He was also made with the same punch. His antlers are bit OTT but that's ok by me!
The frogs are about three inches in height & I made them using punched out circles & ovals. Easy to make - have a go! And don;t forget to show me what you've done, I'd love to see your spin on them:-)

New Stuff On My Birthday!

Happy Birthday to me! I am old enough to know better & young enough to still know how to have FUN!!
Ok, I recently painted the wooden box & decorated it with two small Gecko ornaments. One on either side. I then put some of my roses out of my garden inside the box in some oasis stuff.
I thought it looked ok! I have it sitting on my dining room table.
